bigger than a bread box?

No, but it IS a bread box!

I stumbled upon this uh, beauty at Goodwill the other day. Not that I was shopping for a bread box or even in the market at all for a bread box, but sometimes opportunities just present themselves.

I liked her glass window and nice curves.

And the Middle Child liked the bonus Lego guy (?) head that I found wedged in a corner inside of the box. Score! Sunflower seeds and twist tie were not as welcome.

So, I sanded her down a bit, just to get the gloss off.

Did some disassembly then painted her one of my favorites- Valspar Mediterranean. Problem is, it only seems to be available (at least at my Lowe's) on a gloss and that's not ideal for all projects. Kinda like this one, but I went with it anyway...

The wood was a little rough anyway, so I decided to distress it a bit. I kept the old hinges, but upgraded the knob (which matches my kitchen cabinet hardware.

 Yay-ya!).

I think she turned out pretty cute. But...

Is it just me or does this actually say "Brrad"?!
